

Who is Dawn O’Brien?

My name is Dawn O’Brien, counsellor and psychotherapist based primarily in Waterford City and county, where over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds on a variety of issues. I have gained invaluable experience not only working as a therapist but also from my previous work in business and social care, both of which gave me the opportunity to work and travel extensively in Ireland and abroad..
I hold many qualifications, including an honors degree in Applied Social Studies in Social Care, a Diploma and honors Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Masters in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also a qualified Supervisor and work with counsellors, psychotherapists and professionals from many other areas such as social care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and related professional areas. I am fully accredited with the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) as a psychotherapist and supervisor and I am currently Chairperson of the Southeast Regional committee of IACP. I am fully committed to my continuous professional development, regularly attending workshops, conferences, seminars and supervision. I read extensively and engage wholeheartedly in personal research and practical development of counselling, psychotherapy and related lifestyle and health issues.
